About Me
My name is Andrew Turner. I’m a photographer based out of Sioux Falls, SD. I photograph a variety of subjects including portraits, landscapes, wildlife, macro, cities/towns, events, and more.
I am autistic, ADHD (or AuDHD as many like to call it), and also aphantasiac. I have chosen to be open about my neurodivergence as it is simply part of who I am. Further, photography has become part of my identity as a neurodivergent. It helps me connect with the world both in nature and with other people by providing a focus point for me to latch on to. It adds value to my life; it enables me to create.
Not only do I share and sell my work online, I also promote my work at art shows around the Sioux Falls, SD area. These shows are a great way for me to get out and interact with people while also exhibiting my work.
My goal for this blog is to share my experiences and knowledge as an AuDHD photographer. This includes my own work, tips and tricks, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions
I first started learning the fundamentals of photography at a young age using an old Pentax 35mm SLR camera. I had several photo assignments for some classes in both middle school and high school. However, it wasn’t until after I re-enlisted to become a Public Affairs Specialist that I really started getting into photography.
I quickly learned that I not only fell in love the photojournalism side of my role in the SD Army National Guard, but I also had a pretty good knack for it too. I had number of great opportunities with the National Guard to develop this skill After graduating DINFOS, including trips to Grafenwöhr, Germany and Paramaribo, Suriname.
I later graduated in 2012 from South Dakota State University with a degree in Photojournalism.
